Haus Amberg Heroes Foundation, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of disabled veterans, first responders, and other qualifying individuals through canine companionship, training support, education, and financial assistance.

Our goal is to connect deserving heroes with carefully selected working-line German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois puppies that can provide companionship, confidence, motivation, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Through responsible placement, continued guidance, and community support, we help build lasting partnerships between exceptional dogs and the heroes who need them.

We believe that the relationship between a person and a dog can lead to meaningful improvements in confidence, independence, emotional well-being, daily activities, and overall quality of life. Our organization supports this mission through the placement of working-line German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois puppies, puppy development and canine training assistance, educational resources for responsible dog ownership, and support with veterinary care, training equipment, and essential canine supplies. We may also provide financial assistance for qualifying canine-related expenses and build partnerships with professional trainers, businesses, veterans’ organizations, first-responder groups, community sponsors, and other supporters who share our commitment to creating lasting, beneficial human-canine partnerships.

Haus Amberg Heroes Foundation, Inc. accepts applications from qualifying veterans, first responders, service members, and individuals who may benefit from canine companionship, training support, or approved canine-related assistance.

Discounted services may be available to qualifying veterans, first responders, military families, and approved applicants. Eligibility is based on program guidelines, available funding, and current resources. Discounts are not guaranteed and may vary by service.

Applications are reviewed based on eligibility, demonstrated need, readiness, compatibility, available dogs, and current funding. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval, placement, or financial assistance.

Patrick Lockett

President

Patrick Lockett is the President of Haus Amberg Heroes Foundation, Inc. and a retired United States Army First Sergeant who completed 20 years of military service.

Following his military career, Patrick continued his commitment to leadership and service as an Army JROTC instructor, helping prepare and mentor the next generation of young leaders.

Patrick is also an owner and trainer with Haus Amberg Shepherds, where he works with German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois for family companionship, advanced obedience, sport, protection, and professional working-dog programs.

As President, Patrick provides strategic leadership, oversees foundation programs, develops community partnerships, and helps ensure that each canine placement supports the long-term needs of the recipient.

His assignments included 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany; 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Training Brigade at Fort Knox, Kentucky; 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division; and 3rd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. He completed three combat tours in Iraq and later served as an Operations Sergeant Major with United States Army South, where he was selected as a U.S. Army Ambassador in 2012.

His additional leadership assignments included serving as First Sergeant of Blackfoot Troop, 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division; Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment; and Charlie Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. His military education includes Pathfinder School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, the Javelin Training Course, Small Arms Weapons Expert training, Combat Lifesaver Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Toxic Agent Training Course, Defense Hazardous Materials Training Course, Basic Instructor Training Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, and First Sergeant Course. Patrick has earned numerous awards and decorations, including the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, five additional Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, four Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, three Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons, Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Wheeled and Tracked Vehicle Clasps, Army Physical Fitness Badge, and the Armor Association’s Order of Saint George Bronze Medallion.

He is the owner of Haus Amberg Shepherds, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. He is also one of only 10 NePoPo® Premium Gold canine trainers worldwide.

His professional canine experience includes serving on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Canine Professionals as the Director of Europe. He also served as chairman of both the IACP Legislative Committee and European Committee, supporting professional standards, education, and legislative efforts throughout the international canine industry. He has trained military, Special Operations, county, and local law enforcement canine handlers and has provided working dogs to military and law enforcement agencies around the world. In addition to his canine work, Patrick proudly serves with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office as a sworn deputy and maintains an active Special Weapons and Tactics certification.

He also serves as a U.S. Army JROTC Instructor, using his military leadership experience to mentor cadets and help them develop discipline, confidence, citizenship, teamwork, and leadership skills. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Grantham University. He is continuing his graduate-level education and is currently enrolled in the Master of Legal Studies program at Golden Gate University.

Alishia Lockett

Vice President

Alishia has more than ten years of experience training and breeding German Shepherds in Germany and the United States. Throughout her career, she has worked with police K9s, service dogs, sport dogs, family companions, and working-line breeding programs.

Her knowledge of canine temperament, development, health, genetics, and responsible placement plays an important role in helping the foundation select appropriate dogs and provide recipients with realistic, responsible guidance.

As Vice President, Alishia assists with program development, canine selection, recipient communication, community outreach, and the daily operation of the foundation. Alishia is committed to ensuring that every foundation placement is approached with honesty, care, professionalism, and a long-term commitment to both the recipient and the dog.

Andrew Heckle

Secretary

As Secretary, Andrew supports the foundation’s governance and administrative responsibilities. Andrew works alongside the foundation’s officers and directors to promote transparency, accountability, responsible nonprofit management, and continued progress toward the organization’s mission.

His service helps provide the organizational structure needed for the foundation to build partnerships, administer programs, support recipients, and responsibly manage future growth.
